*BIC Lecture Series: Winter-2011 Program*
The BIC Lecture
Series<http://www.bic.mni.mcgill.ca/Seminars/BICLectureSeries>is a
series of informal lectures on brain imaging that is presented at the
McConnell
Brain Imaging Centre <http://www.bic.mni.mcgill.ca/Main/HomePage> (*BIC*) of
the Montreal Neurological Institute <http://www.mni.mcgill.ca/> (*MNI*) by
experts in the field; these lectures are open to all.
The Winter-2011 Program of the BIC Lecture Series will feature a number of
presentations examining the use of advanced brain imaging techniques to
better understand the structure and function of the human brain. The theme
for this season's BIC Lecture Series will be "The Cerebral Cortex" -- with
many of the lectures being aimed at exploring how different structural and
functional imaging techniques are being used to further our understanding of
this most incredible structure.
Please join us for our thirteenth lecture of the season, which will be held
on Monday, April the 18th, at 1:00 pm in the de Grandpré Communications
Centre <http://neuromedia.mcgill.ca/mnibooking/facdirections/dgccdir.htm> of
the MNI (3801 University Street, Montreal, QC, H3A 2B4).
This lecture will be given by Dr. Pierre
Rainville<http://www.criugm.qc.ca/a_chercheur.html?id=114>,
who will give us an introduction to what emotional responses tell us about
brains in pain.
We hope to see there!
