Killam Lecture
********************************************************************
Dear Colleagues,
The MNI/KILLAM lecture on Wednesday Jan 14 (de Grand Pre Communications Centre BTRC at 4.00pm) will be given by George Davey Smith, MD, Ph.D.
Department of Social Medicine University of Bristol, UK and is entitled:
"Mendelian randomization: how genetic epidemiology can contribute to identifying environmentally modifiable causes of disease"
George is a prodigious writer having more than 500 publications; he describes himself as a ³Professional Preventive Medicine Apparatchik². To quote George :
³The problems of interpreting some aspects of transgenic animal studies may also apply to Mandelian randomization within genetic epidemiology, however, and linked progress across the fields of genomics, animal experimentation and epidemiology will better define the scope of Mendelian randomization in future²
If you find this interesting and would like to talk with George he will be available most of Wednesday. Just e-mail Annie Le Bire at annie.lebire at mcgill.ca <mailto:annie.lebire at mcgill.ca> and we will set a time.
