Position Title:

Post-Doctoral Fellow / Research Associate in 

Fiber Optics Design and Instrumentation in Medical Physics

The Department of Radiation Oncology of Harvard Medical School (HMS)
Boston, Radiation Physics Division, invites applications for a
postdoctoral research position starting March 1st, 2009. The employment
period will be for two years.

The successful candidate will work on scintillating fibers and
associated instrumentation for the use in proton imaging. The project
will involve collaboration between HMS and fiber optics group from
Massachusetts Institute of Technology (MIT).

Qualifications: Ph.D. in physics or engineering physics with experience
in detector physics. Knowledge in detectors design and development in
addition to detector instrumentation is preferred.

The Massachusetts General Hospital is an equal opportunity employer.
Training in radiation therapy physics, including treatment planning and
dosimetry, will be offered to complete the post-doctoral fellow's
education. The Department provides radiation therapy at several clinical
sites in the Boston area, and is a teaching affiliate of the Harvard
Medical School.
