Neuroimaging Scientist

The Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre site of the Heart and Stroke
Foundation Centre for Stroke Recovery (HSFCSR), led by Site Co-Directors
Drs. Sandra Black and William McIlroy, invites applications for two
Neuroimaging Scientist positions, with specific expertise in structural
and/or functional MRI techniques and/or analysis.

The successful candidate will be expected to develop a research program
focused on the development and/or application of advanced analysis
techniques for processing of MRI and/or fMRI data obtained via high
resolution imaging, relaxometry, magnetization transfer imaging, diffusion
tensor imaging, MR spectroscopy, and arterial spin labeling.

Emphasis will be placed on potential application to human behaviour and
neurological disorders relevant to stroke and stroke recovery.  The
successful applicant will provide a linkage between applied and basic
research by developing collaborative relationships with Clinical Scientists
and Imaging Research Physicists at Sunnybrook Health Sciences Centre, and
with HSFCSR scientists at Baycrest and the University of Ottawa/Ottawa
Health Research Institute.

The candidate must possess a PhD or MD and must have relevant
qualifications at the postgraduate level (e.g., physics, biophysics,
chemistry, computer science, engineering, medical imaging, neuroscience,
radiology).  Ideally, the candidate will have demonstrated experience in
multidisciplinary and multi-modal collaborative research, and success in
obtaining external funding.  The candidate should be eligible to obtain an
appointment at the University of Toronto at the Assistant or Associate
Professor level.  Excellent communication and interpersonal skills are
required as well as an ability to work with a multidisciplinary team.
