Computer Scientist - Methods Group
(PI: Dr Will Penny)

The Functional Imaging Laboratory (FIL) Wellcome Trust Centre for 
Neuroimaging, invites applications for the post of Computer Scientist 
in the Methods Group. The Laboratory pursues brain research by means of 
functional and structural imaging and data analysis using SPM Software. 
We seek a computer scientist to maintain and develop our data analysis 
software (SPM). The Department is equipped with a 1.5 T whole body 
scanner (Siemens Sonata), a 3 T head scanner (Siemens Allegra), a 3 T 
whole body scanner (Siemens Tim Trio), an MEG system (CTF/VSM), and two 
EEG systems, one being MRI compatible.

The appointee will work alongside members of the Methods Group, 
reporting to the Head of Methods. Applicants should have good 
programming skills in Matlab and C/C++, and be capable of finding 
elegant and general solutions to problems for maintaining and 
developing the SPM software. Previous experience of SPM software and/or 
working in an imaging laboratory would be a definite advantage, and 
knowledge of XML and web documentation tools would be useful.

Salary on the UCL Grade 7 scale in the range £28,396 to £34,337 pa 
inclusive, superannuable. The post, which is available immediately, is 
funded for three years in the first instance.
