FORWARDING ON BEHALF OF DR. J-P SOUCY. Jennifer

________________________________

"To all PET users :

Please be advised that effective immediately, the REB at the MNI has
accepted as the upper limit for radiation absorbed doses to PET protocol
subjects a dose of 20 mSv. This replaces the until now used limit of 5
mSv, and places us in line with the limit used by all other PET centres
in Canada.

Of course, this does not mean that everyone is now free to just aim for
20 mSv: the ALARA (As Low As Reasonably Achievable) principle is always
valid. It simply means that if you have valid scientific reasons to go
to 20 mSv, you will not have to bring forward any special justification.

Yours,

Jean-Paul Soucy

PET Unit Coordinator"
