Please welcome Dr. Dan Feldman who will be giving the Killam seminar Tuesday, June 6 at 4:00. Dr. Feldman holds the Walter F. Heiligenberg
Professorship in the Biology Division at UCSD, where he has used a combination of behavioral, in vivo and in vitro electrophysiological techniques to reveal the
mechanisms responsible for activity-dependent development and plasticity of rodent "barrel" cortex. Dr. Feldman was among the first researchers to appreciate the importance of spike time-dependent plasticity in cortex as a practical mechanism by which phenomena like LTP and LTD might guide response refinement in the developing cortex. His lab in recent years has provided some of the clearest evidence that spike timing is indeed a key player in activity-dependent plasticity in the developing cortex.

Dr. Feldman is an excellent, engaging speaker and is certain to be entertaining and informative.
