Dear Colleagues

Most of you will remember the successful meeting we held on August 19 of last year at the Grand Pre Auditorium, MNI.  At that time all of the investigators working with the PREVENT-AD cohort gave brief presentations of their work.  That meeting followed a push to assemble some data from many sources for the
'preliminary studies' portion of our ill-fated Brain Canada / Chagnon Family application.

We were unable to replicate (or simulate) the date this year owing to two other grants going in at about the same time.  However, we want to repeat and, indeed, expand slightly on what we did last year, only a month later on September 18.  This time the impetus is our need to coalesce with the data and techniques assembled over the past year or two, and to take some time for a "mini-retreat" thereafter for free-ranging discussion of "where we are now, where we should be, and where we are going" as a Centre.  We are reserving the Grand Pre this time for a full day, with the a.m. to be dedicated to presentations from individual investigators (as before) and the afternoon for the "mini-retreat" portion.

In the next few days you will receive from Cecile and Jennifer an e-mail further describing the conference, and a template upon which we will ask that you fill in some key points and concepts following one or two examples to show you the sort of thing that is wanted.  We ask that you please complete that form well in advance of the Sept 18 date so we can circulate it at the meeting.  Please use it also to help you organize your talk.  I would be especially happy if you could forward a draft for review.  I'll share your draft with one or two others to give you as much constructive feedback as possible.
