[MINC-users] Can't properly convert nifti to minc

Hello MINC experts,

I am having difficulty converting certain nifti files to minc.
The niti files have the float datatype (bitpix 32).
Even when I specify -float when running nii2mnc, I get minc images that
actually look like short data types (please find the screenshot

the left image is the minc output I am getting, the right is the
original
nifti file.)
Any tips on solving this problem?
