Hi Patrick,

Have you messed with the xorg.conf on either of the machines?  The
font path changed from "/usr/share/X11/fonts/..." to
"/usr/share/fonts/X11/..." a yonk ago and perhaps this is biting you.

Either that or try this:

   # apt-get install xfs xfstt
