Dear Colleagues

As most of you working in neuroimaging know very well, new methods for
data analysis are constantly being developed. Among these are
multivariate techniques which have wide applicability in many
circumstances.

In collaboration with the University of Montreal, we have arranged for a
two-day workshop devoted to one of these methods, partial least squares
(PLS), to be given by Randy McIntosh and Nancy Lobaugh, from the
University of Toronto, who have been leaders in this field for some
time. (see references, below)

The workshop is aimed at faculty, postdocs, and advanced graduate
students who have experience with neuroimaging and wish to enlarge their
knowledge of analysis techniques. Details about PLS analyses as they
pertain to PET and fMRI as well as ERP techniques will be discussed.

Background information will be presented on the first day to
ensure a sufficient base for attendees, but the assumption is that most
attendees have a rudimentary knowledge of matrix algebra, statistics,
neuroimaging.  The second day will be a hands-on computer lab using both
example data sets and data that participants bring.  Further details
concerning the format for data to be analyzed will be posted shortly.

DATES: October 5 & 6

COST: $100 per participant (further details on method of payment will be
forthcoming to those who register)

NOTE: places are limited because of the availability of computer
terminals. We may need to double up people from the same or related labs
on a single terminal if there are more participants than there are  
spaces.
