my mistake. I just updated ana2mnc from the cvs repositary.
I've reverted back to the previous script.
Andrew, if you read this can you tell us what is the problem?
Seems to me that one has to use:

/usr/local/unstable/bin/perl5 /usr/local/mni/bin/ana2mnc -help
