just a little note: i am working on a 64-bit opteron amd freesurfer port, using suse linux and gcc 3.2.2. had to add the -fPIC and -DPIC flags to builds of netcdf and minc to get libraries i could use without errors at compile (of course, i have yet to see if they actually work :) mostly wanted to get this into the archive... cheers --vicka
