Hi all,
Alan Evans, Kaleem Siddiqi and I invite you to come hear our collaborator Prof. Guido Gerig talk on Friday, March 21 2025 at 4pm.
Longitudinal Image Analysis to Meet Clinical Needs
Friday, March 21, 2025
4 p.m. EST
Jeanne Timmins Amphitheater,
The Neuro
Monitoring individual disease progression from medical images requires advanced analysis of longitudinal imaging data. This talk will explore key aspects of processing temporal image series, including harmonization, curation, and modeling, with a focus on statistical and learning-based approaches. We will discuss the extension of longitudinal analysis methods to anatomical structures and diffusion MRI, incorporating subject-specific covariates for improved interpretability. Applications to clinical studies—ranging from early brain development to neurodegeneration and glaucoma progression—will highlight the potential of these techniques in improving disease monitoring and prediction.
Guido Gerig is an Institute Professor at NYU Tandon, with joint appointments in Biomedical Engineering and NYU Langone. His research focuses on medical image analysis, including segmentation, registration, and shape analysis, applied to neurodevelopmental and neurodegenerative disorders. A Fellow of AIMBE and IEEE, he has contributed to studies on autism, Down's syndrome, and Huntington’s disease. In 2023, he received the MICCAI Society’s Enduring Impact Award.
