Using the 7 Tesla scanner, we can image at a sub-millimeter resolution. This resolution allows probing the activity in cortical columns and acquiring cortical depth-dependent activity (?laminar? fMRI). I am initiating a study/work/interest group to facilitate high-resolution fMRI at the BIC. In the meetings, we will discuss the topics mentioned below and will present relevant papers. The topics we will discuss include: 1. What should we do before starting high-resolution fMRI? 2. How to design a high-resolution fMRI paradigm? 3. Methods and parameters for acquiring high-resolution fMRI data (in collaboration with Ilana) 4. Real-time analysis of high-resolution fMRI data during data acquisition 5. Methods for denoising and quality control of high-resolution fMRI data 6. Methods for analyzing high-resolution functional MRI data 7. Strategies to reduce subject movements 8. Strategies for motion correction with small fMRI volumes 9. Methods for aligning small fMRI volumes to the structural images With the support of Dr. Sethu Boopathy from my lab, we will offer commonly used pipelines and custom-made pipelines for items 4 - 9. PIs and trainees who are/might be interested: please contact me. Message-ID: Dear all, The NeuroHub /CBRAIN platform provides a unified approach to managing, processing and analyzing data across scientific disciplines (Neuroscience, Genetics, Genomics, behavioural..), making it easier for researchers to collaborate and share their work to drive scientific progress forward. With NeuroHub, the scientific community has access to the tools they need to advance their research and push the boundaries of what's possible. NeuroHub also makes data analysis easier, faster and reproducible. Using our platform, you can run complex tools and pipelines on high-performance computing with a click of a button, saving time and resources. We are happy to share that NeuroHub/CBRAIN is launching a series of training workshops that are coming soon. The training workshops will offer sessions for both beginners and experienced platform users. To tailor the workshops, we invite people to complete the NeuroHub Workshop Survey . Doing so will provide us with key information to design the workshops specifically for the audience's interests, and you'll also be entered into a draw for a* $25 Amazon gift card, *and we would love to share it with the BIC community. It is a great opportunity to learn more about how high-performance computing helps researchers to perform, collect and analyze faster. If you have any questions, please let me know. Thank you for helping us create the best learning experience for you! However, how each functional region in the cerebellum interacts with its neocortical counterparts and uniquely contributes to function remains unknown. Recent work from the Diedrichsen Lab addresses this question using an active-state approach, employing large batteries of tasks to map functional specialization and patterns of cortico-cerebellar connectivity in single participants. The lab's research focuses on methodological issues and critically compares the use of active-state and resting-state data in mapping brain function. > > The Killam Seminar Series at The Neuro > Supported by the generosity of the Killam Trusts, The Neuro?s Killam Seminar series hosts outstanding guest speakers whose research is of interest to our scientific community. > > Visit the event?web page for more information. > > Contact: Debbie Rashcovsky > ? > ? > ? > ? > ? > ? > ? > ? > -------------- next part -------------- An HTML attachment was scrubbed...
