Dear all,
Please see the following job posting (Research Assistant) related to high-field neuroimaging of long COVID. Thank you.
We are looking for a highly motivated research assistant to coordinate a large 4-year project funded by the CIHR. The project topic is related to investigating the effects of long COVID on the autonomic nervous system using high-field (7 Tesla magnetic resonance imaging - MRI) and physiological monitoring. The research assistant will be joining a multidisciplinary team of researchers based at McGill University, led by Dr. Georgios Mitsis (Department of Bioengineering), Dr. Richard Hoge (Department of Neurology) and Dr. Marie-Helene Boudrias (School of Occupational and Physical Therapy). They will have the unique opportunity to access and use the state-of-the-art 7T MR scanner located at the Montreal Neurological Institute, one of the only two such systems currently available in Canada.
The research assistant will be responsible for participant screening and recruitment, as well as scheduling of data collection. They will oversee the collection of behavioral data (questionnaires) through online platforms before/after physiological and neuroimaging data collection. They will be responsible for entry, organization and management of the multimodal data set to be collected (behavioral questionnaires, physiological & neuroimaging data). They will also assist in neuroimaging (7T MRI) and physiological (Doppler ultrasound, autonomic testing and respiratory assessment) data collection, as well as in the preparation of manuscripts and conference presentations
The candidate should have a Master’s level degree in health sciences, biomedical engineering, neuroscience or related field and they should be bilingual (fluent in English and French). Previous experience in organizing, managing and analyzing physiological data is required. In particular, previous experience with magnetic resonance imaging and/or transcranial Doppler ultrasound data, as well as in similar-scale cohort studies (around 300 subjects) are significant assets. Basic knowledge of statistics and related software packages (e.g., R, SPSS, Matlab, Python or equivalent) is also required. The ideal candidate should have high-level organizational skills and the ability to work in a multidisciplinary team. They should also be able to work independently.
