CALL FOR NEURO RESEARCH FELLOWSHIP & TRAVEL AWARD APPLICATIONS

Applications will be assessed and awarded by the Research Awards Committee, chaired by Dr Boris Bernhardt.

FELLOWSHIPS

  *   The Jeanne Timmins Fellowship

Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD degree. Candidates with MD degrees will ordinarily have completed clinical studies in neurology or neurosurgery. Research is being carried out in a variety of contemporary clinical and basic research areas.

4 awards, $40,000 each

  *   The Molson NeuroEngineering Post-doctoral Fellowship

Candidates must have an MD and/or PhD degree and be interested in pursuing high-level work in NeuroEngineering.
1 award, $50,000

  *   Redpoll Postdoctoral Fellowship

Candidates must have a PhD degree and be interested in pursuing research in the field of Neuroimmunology and Neurodegeneration.
1 award, $50,000

TRAVEL AWARDS

NOTE covers the period from November 1, 2022 – April 30, 2024, and may be used for virtual meetings, events, and conferences)

Simon Groom Student Travel Award

Up to $1,000 for travel expenses of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows presenting research related to epilepsy at international scientific meetings, including the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting.

Dr. Richard Murphy Travel Award

Up to $1,500 for travel expenses of graduate students and post-doctoral fellows presenting research at national and international scientific meetings, including the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting.

Don Baxter Collaborative Fund

Up to $3,000 for travel expenses of graduate students, post-doctoral fellows and clinical trainees, to visit labs in other locations to learn new techniques and forge collaborative links as well as to attend specialized courses directly related to their area of study/specialty offered nationally or internationally.

  *   Tom Gevas Student Travel Award

Up to $1,500 for travel expenses of graduate students presenting research at national and international scientific meetings, including the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting.

  *   Hay Foundation External Training Travel Award

Up to $5,000 for travel expenses of graduate students to attend specialized courses directly related to their area of study/specialty offered nationally or internationally.

  *   McKerracher External Training Travel Award in Regenerative Medicine

Up to $5,000 for travel expenses to graduate students or post-doctoral fellows whose research involves Brain development, Neurodegenerative medicine as well as stem cells and pluripotent cells development.

  *   Lewis Reford Fellows Travel Award

Up to $1,500 for travel expenses of post-doctoral fellows presenting research at national and international scientific meetings, including the Society for Neuroscience Annual Meeting.

  *   Albert Gombay Neuroscience Travel Award

Up to $1,000 for travel expenses for graduate students and post-doctoral fellows presenting research at national and international scientific meetings.
