Cognitive Neuroscience of Memory, Aging & Alzheimer’s Disease
McGill University, Montreal, QC, Canada
The laboratory of Dr. Maria Natasha Rajah, Departments of Psychiatry & Psychology, McGill University (Montreal, Canada) is seeking a talented and motivated Postdoctoral Researcher, eligible to travel and work in Canada, who is interested in examining the impact of biological sex, hormones and Alzheimer’s Disease risk factors on brain aging and memory function.
About the lab:
Our lab consists of diverse, open-minded and motivated individuals who thrive on working collaboratively in a supportive environment. Dr. Rajah is a Professor at McGill University; Director of the Douglas Institute’s Brain Imaging Centre; and CIHR Sex & Gender Chair in Neuroscience, Mental Health and Addiction. Her research program uses behavioral and neuroimaging (primarily MRI) methods to study the cognitive neuroscience of memory, aging and Alzheimer’s Disease (AD) prevention.
Current Position
We are seeking a candidate interested in applying network neuroscience approaches and using a sex and gender based + analytic lens (SGBA+) to the study of the cognitive neuroscience of healthy and pathological aging. The candidate is encouraged to develop & conduct her/his own project within the scope of the lab’s research interests and will have the opportunity to contribute to and lead analyses of data collected as part of current CIHR funded project “Sex differences in brain aging in adults with and without risk factors for Alzheimer’s Disease” which focuses on midlife, and examines the effect of menopause and sex hormone levels on brain function and cognition.

Starting date: January/February 2021 (flexible)
Duration: 2yrs with possibility of extension
Salary: $50,000/yr + benefits (negotiable based on experience)
Academic Requirements: The successful candidate must have: 1) a Ph.D. in Psychology, Neuroscience, Computer Science or related discipline; 2) expertise in cognitive or computational neuroscience and/or expertise in human neuroendocrinology and sex/gender science; and 3) peer reviewed publications and a track record of research excellence. The candidate should have a keen interest in the topics of sex and gender research and neurocognitive models of healthy and pathological aging. Skills: The successful candidate must have experience working in both Windows and Linux environments, and using the following software: MSOffice, SPSS or R, and Matlab. Experience using SPM, FSL, ANTs, PLS and/or AFNI or similar image analysis software is required. Excellent communication skills in English are a must, and the ability to communicate in French is an asset. Programming skills are an asset.
