Research Assistant: software development at the MNI’s Brain Imaging Centre

A research assistant position is open at the Montreal Neurological Institute Brain Imaging Centre.
The candidate will develop pipelines for analyzing functional MRI and diffusion MRI data. Wherever possible, the scripts will be based on existing data analysis software packages.
Depending on previous experience in functional and diffusion MRI data analysis, the time commitment may vary between 15 hours a week (for an experienced developer who is interested in part-time employment) and 35 hours a week. The work can be done on-site (subject to the directives of McGill University and the Montreal Neurological Institute) or from remote (according to the candidate’s preference).
Duties include:

-        Develop pipelines for analyzing functional MRI data (BOLD imaging during tasks and at rest).

-        Develop pipelines for analyzing diffusion MRI data.

-        Integrate eye-tracking and fMRI data analysis.

-        Develop pipelines for automated data quality control and image processing.

-        Use version control for all developments.

-        Develop Docker containers for the analysis pipelines.

-        Document the analysis pipelines

-        Assist students from Drs. Mendola and Shmuel laboratories in analysis of brain imaging data.
The ideal candidate will have excellent programming, communication, and organizational skills.
The ideal candidate will also have experience in the following items (in decreasing order of priority):

(1)   Analysis of functional MRI data

(2)   Analysis of diffusion MRI data

(3)   Analysis of anatomical MRI data

(4)   Proficiency in using existing packages, such as FSL, AFNI, FreeSurfer, and MRtrix

(5)   Basic knowledge in image/signal processing and in machine learning
Salary is commensurate with the candidate’s skills and experience.
