FYI
Dear graduate students,
I hope this email finds you well.
The School of Computer Science is considering offering this summer a graduate version of the our popular undergraduate course "COMP 204:
Introduction to programming for Life Sciences”
(https://www.cs.mcgill.ca/~blanchem/204/). The idea is to allow graduate students who have no prior programming experience and are currently locked out of their lab due to COVID to learn programming skills that would be useful for them in their research. The graduate course would introduce Python programming (arguably the most versatile programming language) and share its lectures with COMP 204, but would have additional material and/or assignments. It would be taught online, during either the May or June Summer terms.
At this stage, I am writing to probe your potential interest for such a course. If you are potentially interested, please fill out ASAP this very short survey: https://forms.gle/oqywy2VQuqoQ3VDcA
Based on the number of positive responses, we will decide to offer the course or not.
Thank you!
Mathieu Blanchette
