Please join us for a talk by Samir Das, Research Software Development
Manager for the McGill Centre for Integrative Neuroscience, entitled "The
evolution of LORIS. A look at its past, present, and future".

*Abstract*:

Many of you have heard of LORIS, but do you truly understand it's purpose
and value? It might help to see why this infrastructure was created in the
first place and what kinds of manual work it has streamlined and automated.
LORIS is a complex system with numerous modules and functionalities, and
has evolved with emerging technologies to improve data management for
research studies. It has incorporated best practices in data sharing and is
constantly evolving. This talk will take a stroll down memory lane, while
also providing an in-depth view at its underlying components and features.
But above all, it will answer one key question: "To fork LORIS, or not to
fork LORIS...?"

*Date*: Friday, the 25th of October, at 13:00
*Place*: de Grandpré auditorium
