*Abstract*

Dr Hanke will provide a progress report on ongoing activities in the
context of the development of the DataLad software <http://datalad.org/>.
Instead of presenting polished solutions, the talk aims to provide insights
into his lab's approach to defining a development/deployment strategy,
breaking the neuroimaging bubble, and working with computational
infrastructure that resists being forced into compliance with one's own
needs -- all within the context of a working research institute that cannot
afford major service interruptions.



*Bio*

Dr Michael Hanke is the Principal Investigator at the Psycho­informatics
Lab at Jülich <https://www.psychoinformatics.de/index.html>. Research in
this lab focuses on the interface of computer and information sciences,
neuroscience, and psychology. We develop tools and strategies to employ
inter-disciplinary expertise in psychological and neuroimaging research.
Our projects range from tailored solutions to specific problems (e.g. PyMVPA
<http://www.pymvpa.org/>) to versatile research platforms (e.g. NeuroDebian
<http://neuro.debian.net/>) and data management systems (e.g. DataLad
<http://neuro.debian.net/>).
