Registration for Neuroinformatics 2019 is open
Join us in Warsaw on September 1-2 to interact and share your latest ideas
in AI, neuroimaging and computational neuroscience with plenty of
opportunities for presenting your posters and getting hands-on experience
with the latest tools, and for networking during the social events.

The annual INCF Congress provides a meeting place for researchers in all
fields related to neuroinformatics. Join us for keynotes from top
neuroscientists, community sessions and poster- and demo sessions.
Neuroinformatics 2019 provides a forum for infrastructure providers and
developers of tools, standards, and best practices to help define the
capabilities of the global network, receive training on how to participate
in the Open, FAIR and Citable global network and learn how to provide
better services to their constituents. This is also a great opportunity to
introduce new participants to the field of neuroinformatics and highlight
new and innovative tools and approaches.

Abstract submission deadline: May 31

Get your neuroinformatics training here!
The INCF Assembly is a tool-focused conference, so on August 31, the day
before Neuroinformatics 2019, we offer three courses and workshops. Places
are limited so make sure to claim your spot!

*Short Course: Simulating the brain with the Brain Simulation Platform
(BSP)*
<https://incf.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b59329ff66c420225b5d61212&id=1a6037144c&e=fd54a7da0b>
A full-day short course that introduces the Brain Simulation Platform (BSP)
of the Human Brain Project (HBP). After the course, participants will be
able to use the BSP to access HPC systems to configure and run simulations,
visualize and analyze simulation results, and to form collaborative groups
interested in exploring scientific issues of common interest.

*Neuroscience data integration through use of digital brain atlases*
<https://incf.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b59329ff66c420225b5d61212&id=a6ada5942a&e=fd54a7da0b>
This full-day course will present currently available reference atlases. It
will demonstrate how the 3D brain templates for the reference atlases are
acquired, how they are used as a basis for delineating the structures of
the brain, how they can be enriched by other data modalities, and how they
can be used as a basis for assigning location (coordinate based or
semantic) to a wide range of structural and functional data collected from
the brain.

*The Virtual Brain (TVB) Workshop*
<https://incf.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b59329ff66c420225b5d61212&id=ceee0a2cb4&e=fd54a7da0b>
This workshop will introduce participants to The Virtual Brain (TVB)
neuroinformatics platform. After the course, participants will be able to
have a basic understanding of how models are built using TVB, how they
work, and what biological properties of a neural system they represent, as
well as an understanding of several research topics that can be explored
using TVB. This workshop is composed of lectures and hands-on sessions that
will allow participants to immediately apply the concepts from the lectures
on your simulations in TVB.

Call for SIGs

INCF is calling for community proposals for Special Interest Group (SIG)
and Working Group (WG) meetings
<https://incf.us10.list-manage.com/track/click?u=b59329ff66c420225b5d61212&id=7a846915b2&e=fd54a7da0b>
to be held in Warsaw on 31 August 2019, the day before the INCF Assembly.
The call is open both to new and existing INCF SIGs/WGs. *Deadline is June
1st.*

SIG meetings in Warsaw should aim to:

   - investigate the possibility to establish new SIGs
   - update community members on SIG activities and progress since last
   year (existing SIGs)
   - invite community input
   - form Working Groups, work on an application for INCF Working Group
   funding

WG meetings in Warsaw should aim to:

   - update community members on SIG activities and progress since last
   year (existing WGs)
   - invite community input
   - solicit new members

INCF will support both SIGs and Working Groups with meeting logistics at
INCF-associated meetings during the upcoming year, as well as offer funding
for Working Group activities.

Please submit your proposals for SIG and WG meeting themes no later than *June
1st*. Note that the submitter is assumed to also be the meeting leader
unless otherwise stated. Any questions can be directed to Malin Sandström,
