Brain Imaging Analyst
Description:
The work involves computing and programming support for MRI-related data acquisition, handling and analysis to support the research activities of the School of Psychology and the Brain & Mind Research Institute at the University of Ottawa. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to: implementing and extending advanced image processing algorithms, creating or adapting cognitive and behavioural testing to MRI protocols, consulting on MRI design and analysis techniques, and preparing and applying processing pipelines to magnetic resonance brain imaging datasets from various studies and experimental designs. The data analyst will organize imaging data and results, perform quality control on the results, and communicate with researchers for the dissemination and discussion of the results.
Position is full-time (35 hours/week) for a period of 1 year, with the possibility for renewal, contingent on continued funding. The starting salary of $44,619, commensurate on experience and qualifications.
A minimum of a Master's or equivalent is required, but PhD level education is preferred with a background in biomedical engineering or neuroscience (or related field/skills/expertise). Experience with magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) analysis is required. Strong computer and programming skills (e.g., knowledge of Matlab, and/or Python, R, statistical analysis packages, basic shell scripting, XML, experience in Unix platform) are required, and familiarity with MRI imaging data and analysis tool (e.g., SPM, FSL, AFNI, Freesurfer, BrainVoyager) and experiment presentation software (e.g., E-Prime, Psychtoolbox) are assets. Fluency in French and English is an asset.
