[BIC-announce] Summer Internship in Neuroimaging research for Dawson students

Hello,

We are coordinating a summer group internship to introduce students at Dawson College to research in Brain Imaging. Would you be interested in mentoring a pair of students on a summer project related to your research?
We proceed in the following way:

  *   We cover the background in the first 3 weeks of June.
  *   The students, in groups of two, visit their host institution from late June to mid-August, to work on specific projects.
  *   We continue to have meetings at Dawson twice a week in July and August, where each team presents to the whole group their latest progress.
  *   The Internship ends with formal oral presentations from each team and a week-long poster session.
Most of our students come from the Science Program, but we should have some psychology students and hopefully students from technical programs as well for the summer 2017 internship.
In our previous two years, we found that image preprocessing/analysis or modifying an existing Matlab program made for very good projects, and we are open to any good suggestions.
We will be happy to answer any of your questions.
