[BIC-announce] Update regarding 3T upgrade to 64-channel Prisma

Dear all,

I am in the process of finalizing a date for the 3T upgrade.  Although we requested a date in December, it seems that the earliest we can have the installation is now the second week in January.  The 3T MRI will thus be available as usual up until the normal McGill holiday begins (last day of normal operations is Tuesday, Dec. 20).  Note that there are also no plans to shut down the 1.5T MRI prior to the holiday period, although it is now off service contract and is starting to show its age.

I am still waiting for confirmation on whether a January upgrade will be possible, but expect the current information will be useful to those of you who are trying to finish studies on the Trio (i.e. before the upgrade).  I also hope that the extended availability of the Trio will help offset this week's closure of the MRI unit for work on the sprinkler systems.
