Dear all,

We won't have any seminar today, that talk of Dr. Tamblyn has been postponed
to January next year.

However, we will have a VERY SPECIAL last Biomedical Engineering seminar
next Wednesday Dec 18th at 13h30
This will be a very nice way to finish the year.

Wednesday December 18th, at 1h30 pm (be carful of the change in schedule)

Location: Room 333 Lyman Duff Building (Biomedical Engineering Dpt, 3775
University Street).

Speaker: Dr. L. Young Ph.D., Massachusetts Institute of Technology,
Cambrige, USA

Title:
The Challenges of Exploring Mars

Abstract:
Exploring our sister planet, Mars, will be expensive and challenging but
explore it we surely will. The principle challenges, beyond financing, are
maintaining the safety of the astronauts despite the radiation threat and
the debilitating effects of years in weightlessness or reduced gravity. This
discussion will deal with current countermeasures and the possibilities for
innovative solutions - from artificial gravity to alternative exercise
regimens.

See you there
