Fixed Term 2 Years in the First Instance
We invite applications for a postdoctoral research fellow to join the Oxford Centre for Functional Magnetic Resonance Imaging of the Brain (FMRIB). We are seeking to recruit an MR physicist with experience in functional MRI. The post will involve collecting and analysing fMRI data from volunteer subjects, some of whom may have a neurological condition. The research will also involve the use of physiological monitoring hardware and respiratory gas equipment.
The position may involve both national and international travel to liaise with collaborators based at other sites, and obtaining ethical permission for research.
Experience with any or all of the following would be advantageous: Matlab, image analysis, biophysical modelling, operating MRI scanners, MRI pulse programming.
The successful candidate will have or be about to receive a PhD in a relevant area of physics or engineering and should have a demonstrated capacity for independent work and be capable of initiating research in a lively group. The candidate should be willing to assist with the organisation of the group’s activities.
