`A reminder of the CRBLM symposium by Dr. Virginia Penhune (Psychology, Concordia), taking place this Wednesday, November 2 at 3:30 p.m. in Room 501 of the Goodman Cancer Centre
Gestural imitation and the effects of musical training
The ability to spontaneously and accurately imitate the movements of others is a hallmark of human behavior that has been hypothesized to be important for learning complex motor skills such as language. My talk will focus on work in my laboratory examining the imitation of complex hand and arm gestures, and will discuss a series of experiments designed to test the relationship between imitation and motor learning and performance.
Sponsored by the Centre for Research on Brain, Language and Music, the lecture takes place on Wednesday, 2 November at 15:30 in Room 501, Goodman Cancer Centre, McGill Life Sciences Complex, 1160 Pine ave. West
This research seminar is open to all!
