[BIC-announce] MUNACA Labour Dispute and MRI Scanning

Dear colleagues,

I would like to remind you that all of our MRI Technologists and our Receptionist are part of MUNACA and are therefore currently on strike.  This has severely affected our ability to conduct MRI exams.  Due to strict labour laws, only André Cormier, our Chief Technologist, is permitted to perform scanning during the strike.  Similarly, Hélène Day is the only person able to handle booking requests (along with her long list of other responsibilities).  

While André and Hélène have worked above and beyond what could be normally expected, for which I am extremely grateful, they can only do so much.  I am therefore reminding you all of these difficult circumstances and ask that you keep this in mind when making requests for "special consideration".   I realize that all of our studies are being disrupted by this labour dispute and that there are serious consequences to these delays; however, this situation is beyond our control.   So, please think twice before requesting special consideration and keep in mind the incredible pressure André and Hélène are experiencing. 

Let's hope this dispute ends soon and that we quickly return to normal operation.
