Brain Connectivity Workshop - Montreal 2011
Workshop
Start Time:21 Jun 2011
End Time:23 Jun 2011
Where: HEC Montréal (Amphithéâtre IBM), 3000 Chemin de la Côte-Sainte-Catherine, Montreal, Canada
Website : http://bcw2011.org/
The Brain Connectivity Workshop series aims to bring together experts in computational neuroscience, neuroscience methodology and experimental neuroscience with a special interest in understanding the tripartite relationship between anatomical connectivity, brain dynamics and cognitive function. The first BCW was organized by Rolf Kötter and Karl Friston in April 2002 in Düsseldorf, Germany. Since then, the workshop is a yearly recurrent event organized by a different institution around the globe.

The 2-day workshop is preceded by a 1-day Brain Connectivity Course, in which brain connectivity experts will introduce the concepts underlying the current state-of-the-art methodologies and experimental designs. This year, the first day course will introduce dynamical systems, graph theory and network analysis, diffusion imaging, genetics and connectivity, cortical oscillations and connectivity of the developing brain.

The BCW proper will begin with an opening lecture by Karl Friston in honor of Rolf Kotter. Then, the workshop will cover animal models and connectivity, the connectivity of the developing brain, and for the first time epilepsy in a developing brain.
Organizers: Sarah Lippe, University of Montreal, CHU Ste-Justine, Montreal, Canada, Randy McIntosh, Rotman Research Institute, Toronto, Canada, Klaas Enno Stephan, Laboratory for Social and Neural Systems Research Institute for Empirical Research in Economics University of Zürich, Zurich, Switzerland, Jacques Michaud, University of Montreal, CHU Ste-Justine, Montreal, Canada, Jean Séguin, University of Montreal, CHU Ste-Justine, Montreal, Canada.
