Subject: Today's Killam Seminar
Dear colleagues
Matthew Anderson is an Assistant Professor in the Departments of Pathology and Neurology at Harvard Medical School. He applies mouse genetic techniques (Cre/loxP and BAC recombineering), protein biochemistry, and electrophysiology to study the basis of inherited neurological diseases, autism, and epilepsy. Recent studies have focused on the leucine-rich glioma-inactivated 1 (LGI1) gene, the only non-channel gene identified in humans that causes epilepsy when mutated. His work on LGI1 has provided new insights into mechanisms of neural development, behavior and the pathogenesis of epilepsy that he will speak on today.
Matthew is an excellent scientist and an engaging speaker. I hope you will join me at his seminar today at 4 PM.
Best regards,
Phil Barker
