Subject: Seminar in Biomedical Engineering - Wednesday October 6th - 1 pm
Dear all,
Our next Biomedical Engineering Dpt seminar will be next Wednesday October 6th
Wednesday - October 6th, at 1 pm
Location: Room 321 Lyman Duff Building (Biomedical Engineering Dpt).
Speaker: Dr. Guillaume Marrelec, U678 Inserm/Université Paris 6, Paris, France and Laboratoire international de neuroimagerie et modélisation (LINeM), Paris, France / Montréal, Canada.
Title: Investigating functional interactions in functional MRI
Abstract:
Blood oxygen level dependent (BOLD) functional magnetic resonance
imaging (fMRI) is an imaging technique that makes it possible to
dynamically and non-invasively follow various metabolic and hemodynamic
consequences of brain activity. In particular, it can be used to
investigate the two fundamental principles of neuroscience, namely
functional segregation and functional integration. In this presentation,
we will give a quick description of these two principles. Then, focusing
on functional integration, we will review some methods used in the field
and discuss how they can be improved.
