Subject: The George Karpati Symposium on Neuromuscular Disease - May 10, 2010
Dear Colleague,
To honor the memory of noted neurologist and physician-scientist George Karpati, the Montreal Neurological Institute of McGill University has organized The George Karpati Symposium on Neuromuscular Disease: Innovation and Application. This cutting-edge international scientific conference, addressing muscular dystrophies, myopathies and channelopathies, and neurodegeneration, is a tribute to George's lifelong enthusiasm for research and clinical advances.
The symposium, to take place on Monday May 10, 2010 at the Montreal Neurological Institute, will bring together leaders in the field of neuromuscular disease to present results and perspectives on research and treatment. Confirmed speakers are Valerie Askanas, Stanley Appel, Andrew Engel, W. King Engel, Kevin Flanigan, R.C. Griggs, Hanns Lochmuller, Guy Rouleau, and Eric Shoubridge.
The symposium follows The Ottawa Conference on New Directions in Biology and Disease of Skeletal Muscle (May 5-8, 2010) for the convenience of those who might wish to attend both events.
The symposium's full day of scientific presentations will be followed by a banquet dinner in the evening at which friends and colleagues may share memories of George and his numerous contributions to the field.
Registration for the Karpati Symposium is required but is free of charge. CME credits may be available. Symposium banquet tickets may be purchased for $130 per person. For more information and to register, see http://neuroevents.mcgill.ca/
We hope to see you there!
