=============================

Dear colleagues,

Our Killam seminar speaker this week will be Serge Rivest from Laval University. Serge is doing ground-breaking work on the roles of systemic and innate immunity systems in propelling and potentially controlling, damage result from acute injury (eg. ischemia) and chronic degenerative disease (eg. Alzheimer's disease). His work is being published in high impact journals (see below) and is having a major impact on the field.

His seminar, entitled 'Taking advantage of the systemic immune system to cure brain diseases' promises to be enlightening and provocative, will take place at 4 PM on Tuesday February 14 in the de Grandpre Communications Centre at the Montreal Neurological Institute. I hope to see you there.

Best regards,
Phil Barker
