The "BIC Lecture Series" is a series of informal lectures on brain imaging
that is presented at the McConnell Brain Imaging Centre (BIC) of the
Montreal Neurological Institute (MNI) by experts in the field; these
lectures are open to all.

As you can see below, the Fall 2009 Program of the BIC Lecture Series will
feature a number of introductory presentations to get you up to speed on the
basics of magnetic resonance imaging (MRI), functional MRI, diffusion tensor
imaging (DTI), positron emission tomography (PET) and transmagnetic
stimulation (TMS), as well as how these are used to study the brain and its
functions.

Please join us for our fourth lecture of the season, which will be held on
Monday, October the 26th, at 1:00 pm in the de Grandpré Communications
Centre of the MNI (3801 University Street, Montreal, QC, H3A 2B4). This
lecture will be given by Dr. Georg Northoff (
http://www.chairs-chaires.gc.ca/chairholders-titulaires/profile-eng.aspx?profileID=2543),
who will be giving a presentation on the psychology and pathophysiology of
depression. (Please note that we are fortunate to have Dr. Northoff visit
the MNI next week and this particular lecture will be an example of how
brain imaging techniques can be used to examine important clinical
questions, not a general introduction to a particular brain imaging
technique.)

as they are made available by the speakers, please visit

We hope to see you on Monday!
