Hugh Garavan will be giving a Killam talk from 4-5:15 on Nov. 17th. He is Associate Professor of Psychology at Trinity College, Dublin. His cognitive neuroscience research examines the brain systems underlying decision making, error monitoring, and self control. He is particularly interested in the functions of the frontal lobes. He has addressed these questions using fMRI and EEG methods both in healthy subjects, and in clinical contexts such as drug addiction. He is Director of Functional Imaging at Trinity's Institute of Neuroscience. Hugh is an engaging speaker, and I invite you to attend his talk, entitled: "Cognitive Control and Addiction: Risk, Resilience and Relapse".

Regards,

Lesley
