Dear colleagues:

I am hosting this week's Killam speaker, Shernaz Bamji, from the
University of British Columbia. Shernaz trained at the MNI under the
supervision of Freda Miller and then performed postdoctoral studies in
Lou Reichardt's lab at UCSF. Her work at UBC focuses on the cellular
and molecular mechanisms underlying the formation, stability, and
elimination of CNS synapses.

She is a superb scientist, an engaging speaker and a fine example of an
MNI trainee going on to do important and high impact work. I encourage
you to attend what promises to be a very interesting seminar.

Best regards,
Phil Barker

Seminar Title: Regulation of Synapse Formation and Elimination by
Adhesion and Guidance Molecules
