Dear Colleagues,
Bill Gehring, from the University of Michigan, will be giving the Killam
lecture on March 10th. He is widely known for his influential work on
the neural substrates of error monitoring, motor learning, and decision
making in the human brain. His work addresses the basic systems that we
use to know 'how we are doing' in a variety of contexts, and how we
engage and disengage executive control to optimize performance. He has
particularly focused on the role of anterior cingulate cortex in these
processes. He is also interested in how these systems develop in early
childhood, and whether they contribute to psychopathology, particularly
obsessive-compulsive symptoms.
Bill is an excellent speaker, and will no doubt give an engaging talk.
Missing it would be, um, an error!
Regards,
Lesley
