McGill University

Project Goals:
The goal of the project is to develop, enhance, and customize an
existing database for the distributed processing and exchange of subject
(patient) behavioural data and 3D/4D brain imaging data for an
international, multi-center study. The expected result is a platform
that will allow remote users to transfer large quantities of complex
data to large databases stored at remote locations, query existing
databases, and visualize imaging data as 3D maps in real time.
This innovative project provides standardized tools which scientists and
brain imaging researchers around the globe may use to collaborate
productively and fully, using available computing and networking
resources.

Job Description:
Based at McGill University and at international partner sites, the
database developer will be responsible for the coding, testing,
debugging, deployment, and documentation of software and databases for a
distributed scientific computing platform. He/she will analyse the
requirements set out in the grant application and technical architecture
as defined in the project's statement of work and develop database and
software packages. The database developer will work under the direct
supervision of the project manager and system architect who will monitor
his/her progress and provide task assignments.

neuroinformatic database system for accepting behavioural and imaging
data, based on the requirements of the study * Code, test, debug,
deploy, and document Resource Oriented Architecture (ROA) framework *
Code, test, debug, deploy, and document software components of the
platform * Code, test, debug, deploy, and document a web portal for
access to the platform * Monitor the information systems related to
behavioural and imaging data acquisitions, data transfer, database
storage, and data processing * Monitor and coordinate the versioning,
bug-tracking, and document management systems * Update the
specifications and design documents accordingly * Evaluate the available
web portal development platforms and build a proof of concept web portal
* Document workflow development guidelines * Implement a user interface
