Dear Colleagues,
Our Killam speaker for October 14th is Dr. Fahmeed Hyder, Professor of
Diagnostic Radiology and Biomedical Engineering at Yale. Dr. Hyder will
speak on the 'Energetics of neural signaling and fMRI activity' and will
present extensive combined electrophysiological and MRI data in animals.
Specifically, he will explore the relationship between focal neuronal
activity and oxidative metabolism as measured via calibrated functional
MRI. Dr. Hyder is a leading authority on brain energetics and has
innovatively used MR spectroscopy and imaging to explore it during the
past two decades.
Dr. Hyder is an engaging speaker and I expect his seminar will be of
broad interest to the MNI community. I encourage you all to attend.
If you would like to meet with Dr. Hyder during his visit and have not
already been contacted, please notify Jennifer Chew (x8554 or
Jennifer.Chew at mcgill.ca).
Regards,
Bruce
