First-Year Office - First time at McGill?  The First-Year Office is a
service for ALL students NEW to McGill.   The First-Year Office is here
to help make the transition to McGill's academic and social life as
smooth as possible by providing pertinent information and links to a
range of support mechanisms across campus from one central location.
The First-Year Office is in the Brown Student Services Building, Suite
2100, 3600 McTavish Street.  Phone:  514-398-6913    Email:

Orientation Centre - Monday, August 28 - Friday, September 15, 2006,
9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m.  New students to McGill should be sure to visit
the Orientation Centre.  Located on the second floor of the Brown
Student Services Building, 3600 McTavish Street, and staffed by
returning students who are available to answer questions and provide
personal assistance, the Orientation Centre also offers information
brochures and materials about McGill and Montreal, prizes and fun
giveaways! 

First-Year Resource Room - Monday, August 28 - Friday, September 22,
2006.   The Resource Room is available for students who don't yet have
access to the Internet, or who would like some help using Minerva
(McGill's on-line registration system).  The Resource Room will be
equipped with computers for course registration and telephones for
students to use to make appointments for apartment hunting, etc.  It is
located in room 2007 of the Brown Student Services Building, right
beside the First-Year Office; open weekdays from 9:00 a.m. - 5:00 p.m. 

First-Year Essentials - Looking for information on banks around campus,
cost of living, cell phone providers or daycares?  Take a minute to
browse this on-line resource for a wealth of information on a variety of
topics from academic links to second hand shopping locations for
clothing and books.  Check out First-Year Essentials
