------------------------------------------------------------------

Dear Colleagues,

Dr. Carlos Ibanez, Professor in Molecular Neurobiology at the Karolinska Institute will be speaking at this week's Killam lecture  on March 30, 2006.

Carlos' lab focuses on cellular events that regulate neuronal survival and pathfinding, with an emphasis on the roles of the neurotrophins, the TGFb family and the GDNF family. His group uses a wide array of techniques to address molecular details of the pathways activated by these ligands in vitro and in vivo. I have listed some of his recent publications below.

Carlos is an engaging speaker and I am sure that his seminar will be both informative and entertaining. I hope to see you there.

Best regards,
Phil Barker
