Dr. Avi Nath is a Professor in the Department of Neurology and Neuroscience at Johns Hopkins University and is the Director of the Richard T. Johnson Division of Neuroimmunology and Neurologic Infections.  He is a clinical neurologic whose research interest and expertise involve how the HIV virus and its products interact with neural cells and how molecules produced by the immune system during inflammatory responses also impact on the cell populations.  His Killam talk will focus on the molecular mechanisms that determine neuronal vulnerability to inflammatory conditions.
