----------------------------------------------------------------
Dr. Florin Amzica is from the Department of Anatomy and Physiology at
Laval University School of Medicine.
Over the past fifteen years, Florin has made important contributions to
our understanding of several key physiological mechanisms of sleep and
epilepsy.
He is particularly known for the use of sophisticated in vivo
experiments with simultaneous recordings of neurons and glial cells.
Recently his interests have moved toward the cellular mechanisms of coma
and anesthesia.
He will be presenting some of his more recent results related to the
dialogue among cortical cells (neurons and glia), capillaries and their
extracellular environment at the onset of anesthesia and during some
forms of coma.
Florin is an engaging speaker and will provide a challenging seminar. I
hope you will join us
Dr. Amzica is a Candidate for a position in Anesthesiology.
