***Image Analysis in 3D Ultrasound and Image-guided Neurosurgery*

*
*

*Speaker: **Dr. Pierre Hellier
*IRISA/INRIA Rennes, France

*Abstract*:
Multimodal anatomical and functional images are used to plan neurosurgical procedures. Unfortunately, deformations occur during the intervention and limit the accuracy of neuronavigation systems. 3D freehand ultrasound can be used to correct for these deformations and update the pre-operative planning. The talk will focus on the methodological issues, involving spatial and temporal calibration, 3D reconstruction, denoising and registration of 3D ultrasound images.
