Subject: Federal Income Tax Increase effective July 1

Good morning POPS users,

With the first of the July pay cheques around the corner, please be
informed of the small increase in federal income tax explained below. 

July 1, 2006 will see a small increase in your federal income deduction
resulting in a similar net pay reduction. This change is the consequence
of a combined adjustment in the personal exemption and the lowest income
tax rate, as per the most recent federal government budget. For most of
our staff the decrease in net pay will be in the $2.00 to $6.00 range.
This will continue until December 31, 2006.   

You are reminded that your July 15th pay cheques can already be seen
through the Employee menu in Minerva. While you are in Minerva, why not
elect to eliminate the paper printing of your pay deposit stub. If you
need help getting into Minerva please contact the ICS Customer Support
Help Desk at 3398.  

If in your capacity you consider it useful, please disseminate this
information to the staff in your area. Hopefully this will reduce the
number of phone calls to our office this Thursday, July 15th, pay day
for everyone in the university.
