Vision in the real world and perception and action

I will in the talk review some or our work on systems for vision in

the real world and on classification and recognition of materials.

Then I'll briefly present a newly started longterm project on

vision and cognition. This project epitomizes much of what we've

tried to do on "seeing" systems and also contains essential

components of robotics. The project is a joint effort of eight

European research groups.
