Dear Colleagues:
This week's Killam Speaker will be Dr. Tim Ryan from the Department of Biochemistry, The Weill College of Cornell University, New York. Tim has an impressive CV with recent papers in J. Neurosci., PNAS, Neuron and Nat. Neuroscience.
Tim is a major player in the field of synaptic vesicle exo/endocytosis.
He specializes in the use of sophisticated imaging techniques to examine the kinetics of synaptic vesicle exocytosis and the mechanisms by which synaptic vesicles are subsequently recycled using clathrin-mediated endocytosis. The images will be spectacular with significant insight into nerve terminal biology.
The title of his talk is "The coupling of exocytosis and endocytosis at CNS nerve terminals" It should be a great talk and I hope to see you there.
Sincerely,
Peter McPherson
