Post-doctoral research assistant: Image analysis in pharmacological FMRI Oxford University Centre for Functional MRI of the Brain (FMRIB)
Salary: RS1(A) £20,044 - £25,565

We are seeking a post-doctoral research scientist with an interest in image analysis.
The post-holder would investigate and develop markers of changing brain activity in functional magnetic resonance imaging data. The project aims to assess measures of brain activity in FMRI signals in order to improve the sensitivity to drug-effects in future human pharmacological studies. The position will involve developing statistical analyses of human pharmacological FMRI data.

The ideal candidate would have a doctorate in a relevant discipline (e.g. engineering/physics/psychology/physiology) with strong experience of programming for data analysis using software such as Matlab. An excellent academic track record is required along with research experience in data analysis methods e.g.
statistics.
Experience of image analysis and experimentation, especially in FMRI or other areas of neuroimaging, would be an advantage.

The post is funded for one year by Pfizer Ltd. Employment could begin from January 2005 for a period of one year.

For an outline of the lab's research interests and links to further information, see http://www.fmrib.ox.ac.uk/. For informal enquiries please contact Dr Richard Wise (wise at fmrib.ox.ac.uk).
